KASFAA Professional Development Scholarship

To encourage new members to pursue professional development opportunities and to enhance success within the financial aid profession, the Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators provides a Professional Development Scholarship. The KASFAA Professional Development Scholarship will cover the cost of registration for one (1) participant to attend the SASFAA New Aid Officers Workshop.

To be eligible for the KASFAA Professional Development Scholarship, you must:

• Be a current KASFAA member who has not previously attended the SASFAA workshop
• Be working in a college financial aid office
• Be new to the financial aid profession (less than two year's experience in your current position)
• Receive a recommendation from a KASFAA member (your supervisor or college financial aid director, if possible). Additional recommendation(s) may be submitted.

The scholarship will be awarded at the KASFAA Spring Conference. Applications must be submitted to the Vice President of Training no later than April 5, 2011. The KASFAA Professional Development Scholarship Committee will review applications and select a recipient. Since the scholarship will cover the cost of registration only, you must be willing and able to cover any remaining costs associated with the workshop (travel, etc).

The Summer New Aid Officer’s Workshop will be held June 19-24, 2011 at Clemson University, Clemson, SC.

Please submit the completed KASFAA Professional Development Scholarship Application no later than April 5, 2011. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The application can be faxed to (859) 238-8719, emailed to laura.keown@centre.edu, or mailed to the address indicated below:
